There are books, blogs, films, and flash-in-the-pan facebook gurus dedicated to giving you the coveted secret

to starting a business

to getting rich

to living life on your terms

to success.

And on the surface

maybe it looks easy

as if all you have to do

is apply the simple system

A B C

But what you don’t see

or what they don’t show you, rather

are the failures

the missed opportunities

the slow growth

the years of difficult, persistent

hard work

Because it’s not glamourous

hard work & failure don’t sell easily

if you want to sell something fast

make it sexy

because success sells.

But I have bad news for you

nobody succeeds overnight.

The glamourous success stories you read

are simply the “good part” of a longer tale

full of failure, persistence and hard work.

Here is the inconvenient truth about success:

understand you have value to offer

find something you enjoy doing

serve others & solve their problems

work hard

work hard

work hard

Acknowledge your hard work

serve others & solve their problems

and be grateful you’re alive

Oh, by the way…

you’ve been successful this whole time

even if it hasn’t been that pretty.

Rinse & repeat

Every day.

“Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” — Winston Churchill
