I grew up in a small northern town in Canada where winters were long and opportunities were few. After getting married, I went to school for web design, picked up freelance projects on the side, and eventually landed what I thought was the “real job” — working at a studio as a developer.
It paid the bills, but deep down I knew I wasn’t meant to stay there. My wife reminded me of the gifts God gave me and pushed me to think bigger. So I quit my job and bet on myself.
Freelancing wasn’t smooth sailing. Some months I made more than I ever thought possible. Other months, I barely scraped by. But I kept going. I started teaching, making content, sharing what I knew — and slowly, things started to click. Over the years, that decision turned into more than I could have imagined: $2M in online course sales, nearly $1M in brand partnerships, six-figure creative studios, and teaching over 600,000 students around the world.
But here’s the truth: those numbers aren’t what define me. 2025 was the year that knocked me flat.
I lost my precious daughter.
Nearly lost my father.
And took a catastrophic blow to my business income when my biggest partnership ended.
It was brutal. Humbling. And it reminded me of something I’d forgotten: business doesn’t exist for status or ego. It exists to serve faith, family, and freedom.
And nothing is certain.
That’s why I don’t teach theory. I teach scars. Hard-won lessons from years of building, failing, rebuilding, and learning the long way. Today, I run Build with Brad, where I mentor solopreneurs, freelancers, and consultants who want clarity, better pricing, and systems that scale. And through Creator Engines, I help executive coaches, boutique consultancies, and thought leaders build authority platforms that attract clients even when they’re not working.
