Hiring Design Production, Claude Cowork Versus Chat, and Sending the Imperfect Newsletter

In last week’s coaching call, we talked about hiring design help in a market split between unsupervised juniors and recently laid-off seniors nobody can afford, why committing three months is enough time to know whether a hire was worth it, and the shift from handing someone tasks to handing them an outcome and letting them use their own judgment.

Here are a few of the questions that came up:

  1. How do I hire design help when everyone available is either an unsupervised junior or a senior I can’t afford?
  2. How long do I commit to a new hire before I know whether it was worth it?
  3. When do I stop handing someone tasks and start handing them responsibility?
  4. When should I use Claude chat, and when do I actually need Cowork?

These are the kinds of things we explore in the coaching calls every Friday. They are down‑to‑earth, practical, collaborative, with no bells and whistles. We’re actually getting on a call again shortly today, so if this is the kind of help you’d like (having someone in your corner to help you “read the label from outside the jar”) consider joining us.

And whether it’s today’s call or next Friday’s, every session is recorded and added to a private library that’s chapter‑marked, summarized, and easy to scan so you can jump straight to the segment that matches your current problem. You can watch any replay on your own time, but hopefully we’ll see you live on the next one.

It's just $99 per month (cancel anytime), or $895 for a year.

Talk soon,

Brad

A plan, a build, or ongoing help. We'll figure out which on the call.
